We have been away for quite some time, and I have recently been thinking about my blog and how I have completely abandoned my efforts. Then I pulled up my last post...Mason at 9 months old and found myself staring at my precious little boy, so cute, so little and not yet mobile! And then it was clear the reason for my absence. Shortly after this blog Mason graduated to full tilt crawler, and just before his first birthday he started walking. Somewhere in these past few months I have found myself the mother of a walking, running, getting into everything toddler and have been on the go ever since.
Now it is almost Christmas again and Mason loves all of the decorations. Well, he loves pulling them off the tree that is. The entire bottom half of my tree is bare except for lights. But he also just likes to look at everything and often just wants me to pick him up so he can look at all the decorations. And now as I type this Mason is waking up for his nap, so off I go to chase around my little tornado.

9 Months!
Mason is three quarters of a year old today!
He has the crawling bug but he cannot get far. He can go about 2 feet. We are pretty sure he thinks he is a dog since he is trying to walk on all fours instead of on his knees.
He is also really wanting to pull himself up on the couch, especially if the remote is up there!

Left with the Babysitter
Last Saturday night Mom and Dad decided to go to the TAILS Humane Society Annual Fund Raiser, which meant that we needed a babysitter. Well, we didn't really need a babysitter but Mason did. Miss Pattie, G and Uncle Connor all came up for the night to watch Mason. They had to feed him dinner, give him a bath AND put him to bed (which no one but Mommy has ever been able to do). Now by the looks of his sweet little face, one would think it would be no trouble at all...
But Mason is quite the Mama's Boy and does not usually do well if Mom leaves for too long, so everyone was holding their breath to see how this would go. To everyone's surprise it went really well! Mom and Dad walked out the door and there were no baby tears! Mason ate a big dinner (he loves food) and played for awhile before his bath. After bath time he got a story and a bottle and was ready to be put to bed. He didn't care much for the bottle, and laid down and started to go to sleep. It started to go south for a few minutes when he began fighting sleep. He would yell out and then lay perfectly still as if he were asleep and this went on for a few mintues and then he went to sleep and not a peep was heard from him for almost four hours.
Mom and Dad came home (with some exciting news to be shared in a further blog) and he was still sleeping! Then it was time to go to bed, and just as Mom predicted, Mason woke up as soon as Mom went into the bedroom. The smell of Mommy was just too enticing for Mason and he woke himself up and it was a typical night from there.
Maybe next time Mom and Dad have a babysitter Mom should just stay out all night!

Goodbye Whale, Hello Tugboat
For the first 7 months of his life Mason too his nightly bath in an adorable little whale tub.
But as you can see he was quicly outgrowing it. Mason was also extremely interested in climbing out of his whale and into the big tub.
So it was time to retire the little whale, and move up the the big boy bath seat.
And with that bath seat and big tub came all new tub toys, including a tugboat!
It has quickly become our favorite toy, well we still like the rubber ducky but Mom says it isn't a chew toy.

We lost
We lost...the 28 days of blogging challenge that is. But we think we have a good reason. Mason seems to be teething, and it seems to be giving him a lot of trouble, plus on top of that he had to get a 2 shots today, poor little guy. He took them like a trooper though.
But don't worry, just because we lost does not mean we are giving up! We plan to finish the month out with a post each day.
