Mason's First Plane Trip

This first was only for Mason, but we thought it worth sharing.  We had to stay home and hold down the fort.

Just before Thanksgiving, Mason packed his suitcase and boarded a plane leaving the cold Illinois weather and headed for Texas...I know what you are thinking, and no he was not alone.  He went down there with Mommy and his G.  We have a Great Grandma, Great Aunt, Uncle and cousins that live down there and of course they wanted to meet the little guy.  He was such a great traveler on the plane, he even slept the whole way.  On the way back they even hit some weather and were delayed over 2 hours, and he still held it together!  His Great Grandma had a blast showing him off to all of her friends, pictures are cute but they don't really do him justice.  Mason had a great time meeting his family and spending time with them, and he can't wait to get down there again!

28 Days Day 1: The First Snow

Ok ok, we are a little slow on the challenge. But give us a break, this blog was almost ready we just needed to publish!

This winter has included a lot of firsts for our little brother. Back in early December we got our first bit snowfall, and everyone bundled up to go outside and play, Mason included. He put on his hat, mittens and snow boots and played in the snow for the first time. He LOVED it! We did not really know what he would think, Mom figured he would be cold and want to go inside, but he loved just sitting in the snow and watching it fall around him. He even tried grabbing a snowball and bringing it inside!

Of course none of us lasted long in the snow. We ate our fill of snow and ice then we all came in to warm up by the fire.

We are accepting the challenge!

Our friends over at Big City Baby have shared a challenge with us and we are in!  The challenge is 28 days of blogging in the month of February.  Yes, that means that we will be posting a blog every single day for the entire month!  It has really come to our attention that when it comes to blogs, we have completely dropped the ball.  Again we will use Mason as our excuse, an excuse that we are happy to have in our lives.  Everyday he is growing and changing, we cannot believe he is already 7 months!  The end of our slacking off has come.  There is so much to share, and some catching up to do.  This winter has brought a lot of firsts for us, and that is where we will begin the challenge.  So stay tuned for our 28 days of blogging, and anyone who is new to the challenge, we urge you to join in!

First Bowl of Cereal

Bumper and I have been waiting for the day when Mason begins eating food.  We knew it would start slowly but we were still really excited.  It was just our luck that one night in October our wish came true and Mason got his first bowl of baby cereal.  Bumper sat patiently in the kitchen near Mason's high chair and just waited and hoped, but those of you who know me would say "Hercules is definitely not the type to just sit and wait" So of course, I had my nose right there in the action.

As you can see, I could not keep my nose out of Mason's face. Lucky for me he didn't mind.  And now we sit patiently (well sort of) by Mason each night as he gets his cereal with the hopes that we will get to lick the bowl.  Dad is a big sucker so he usually gives in and lets us.  Soon we will be eating all sorts of Mason food, but for now we are happy with rice cereal.

Trick or Treat

This year wasn't the first year that we chose to dress up for Halloween, but it was the first time for Mason and we decided that we would coordinate our costumes.

Since Mason loves Monkeys, we decided he could be a monkey, and we would be his bananas!  We think the pictures speak for themselves.
