Oh What a Week!

We have had quite an interesting week.  Mom went into work this Monday just like normal, but she was having contractions and cramping all day, they weren't getting any stronger, but they just would not stop.  She decided to call the doctor at about 1:30 and they wanted to see her at 3:30.  They hooked her up to the fetal monitor, the baby was moving fine but they picked up a couple of contractions and decided that she should stay home on Tuesday and Wednesday and come back on Wednesday for a follow-up.  We had a great time having her home with us, we didn't do too much, just relaxed and got belly rubs (we think it help Mom feel better).  The contractions subsided, but the cramping didn't so the doctor decided to pull her from work completely (well, they let her work from home until the end of the month).  We are so glad to have her home with us 2 weeks earlier than expected.

Wednesday afternoon she emailed her boss to update him on the events of the week and get everything straightened out to work from home.  She was really upset because he really wanted her to come in on Thursday for 3-4 hours for a meeting, to help him with a client and to gather her computer and other stuff.  She did have to get her computer but she really just wanted to slip in and out in 20 minutes and keep it as low key as possible.  When she got there, Nadia lured her downstairs to help her with something and much to her surprise...It was a surprise baby shower!!!  Mom was so shocked, there was cake and even more presents for Baby B (seriously I think he has enough).  She found out that they really just wanted her there for the shower.  Here are some of the pictures from the shower:

Then on Friday Mom and Dad went out to dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday (5/20) and go to Babies R Us.  On their way home they found a cute little girl dog running across Plank Road near a farm house and there were lots of cars coming!  Of course they immediately pulled over to check on her, they said she was super cute, she looked like Me (Hercules) but with longer fur.  Her little feet were really muddy and she kept trying to bite the mosquitoes flying around.  She didn't have a collar on, and she ran to the nearby farm house and sat in the driveway.  They assumed that she escaped but no one was home at the house.  Mom really didn't want to leave her in case she ran back out into the road, so they noticed a light on in the barn behind the house and so they drove back.  It turned out that she was at the right house, she was so muddy from running around the horse stables with her family, but it seemed someone left the door to the house open so she was running free.  Her family had no idea she was out by the road.  Mom and Dad came home knowing the little dog (Roxy) was safe with her family.
